Along with the Nokomis East Neighborhood Association (NENA) and other neighbors, gardening has become an act of service at St. James.
2018 crops include lettuce, kale, beans, chard, peppers of all kinds, beets, radishes, onions, herbs and, for the first time, squash.
All of our harvest is donated to neighborhood food shelves: Minnehaha Food Shelf, Groveland Food Shelf and Riverview Senior Apartments. The summer of 2017 yielded more than 400 lbs. of produce. 2018’s harvest is still on the vine!
Stop by on most-any summer evening, and help us weed, water, harvest, and enjoy the camaraderie of God’s bounty.
